Privacy policy
Short version: our signup form asks only for your name and email, and we only use them for what we said we would. This page also covers the outside services that help run the site.
Who we are
The Prop 37 Home Loan Guide is an independent educational website. We are not affiliated with CalHFA or the State of California, we are not a lender, and we don't take loan applications.
What we collect
Name and email address. If you sign up to be notified about Prop 37 loans, we collect the name and email address you enter. If you register as a professional on our professionals page, we also collect your name, role, company and any license number you provide. If you use our contact form, we collect your email, the topic you choose and your message.
What we don't collect. We do not ask for or collect a consumer's phone number, income, credit, Social Security number or loan details. Our calculators and readiness check run in your browser, and what you type there is not sent to us.
Basic technical data. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser type, to run and secure the site.
How we use it
- To send you a short note when Prop 37 loans open, or when there's a significant update.
- For professionals who register, to contact you about future partnerships.
- For contact form messages, to reply to you and correct the guide when needed.
We do not sell or rent your name or email address, and we do not share them with lenders, agents or anyone else, apart from the service providers named below that run our forms and website.
How forms are processed
Our email signup form is provided by Zuops, which stores signups on our behalf. Our contact and professional registration forms are processed by our website host, Netlify. Each provider's handling of that data is covered by its own privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
Our own pages don't use advertising trackers or analytics tools. Some outside services do receive information when you visit:
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details when they load.
- Zuops. The signup form loads from Zuops. It can set cookies, store a visitor ID in your browser, record how the form is used, read campaign tags in the page address, and save what you type before you press submit.
- Meta. The Zuops form page includes a Meta (Facebook) tracking image that loads if your browser has JavaScript turned off.
We don't let advertising networks collect information on our own pages, but we don't control these outside services. They may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our site does not change how it works when it receives one, and the outside services above may not respond to it either.
Your choices
Every email we send includes a way to reply. Reply to any message, or use our contact form, to unsubscribe, to review or correct your information, or to ask us to delete it. We'll honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. California residents may have additional privacy rights, and you can use the same method to make a request.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date below. If we add a lending partner in the future, we'll update this page before collecting anything new, and we won't pass along information you already gave us unless you say that's okay.
